Not the run of the mill craft organization

I'm always trying to figure out new and sometimes different ways to organize my craft supplies.

I try to use things I already have, to keep it inexpensive, but sometimes that's not always the case.

I was browsing through Pinterest the other night...(I try to make it a daily habit!)  and stumbled across some great/unique things to use for all the supplies I have.

There were ways to store your bakers twine...

and card supplies...

organizer from IKEA...(I already have a couple of these!)

a bunch of old fruit boxes made into a shelf.

There was even a fruit basket used for stamps.

Old dressers with missing drawers for fabric storage...

and old wooden soda crates for washi tape.

And then there were just some great industrial looking items for other storage. 

(I find myself sometimes leaning more toward this look than anything.)

All in all, it gave me some new ideas.  When I have a minute (wink, wink...) I'll get to reorganizing my craft space.  Sure would like to have a free minute to get that done!

Some Fun New Items

I've been itching to get some more things added to my Etsy shop, and I've finally got them listed.

I know the Mason Jar craze is still going strong, and I found these great flower frog toppers several weeks ago, so it was time to break out my spray paint and go to town again.  Metallic Silver, Aqua, Butter Yellow, and Pistachio Green.

I also, totally by accident found a great product at Wal-Mart of all places, that I plan to use in various ways.

One of them is to top my framed bulletin boards.

I can also print on this burlap, so I'll add some things to the shop when I finish those.

I LOVE to come across "found" perfectly distressed frames at Goodwill, then fill them with an equally great print.

Coming across some unique tin small bowls (I have NO idea what they were used for) and making them into pincushions makes me happy too.

Of course forgetting I had this jar, finding it again by accident, and then adding a flower frog top to it, made the find all that much sweeter.

And lastly, making these sweet mason jar tags/labels for handmade goods, or as gift toppers, was good too.

The worst part of having an Etsy shop isn't making things and filling it, it's making the descriptions expressive and creative enough for someone to search for, find, and purchase your item!  Takes quite a while too to add them online if you have a lot. 

Worth it though, I LOVE getting sales and lately, quite a few custom orders.

Somethings are always newer to someone else

It was time to refill my Etsy shop a little.

I've been slacking over the summer since my cousin, Emily, and I have been focusing all our creative efforts on our small booth at the local flea market.

I'm sorry Etsy customers of mine, you've seen little variety, and a whole lot of time between new things.

So, I added some new things tonight.

Like oilcloth bunting/pendants,

 more chalkboard items...

 fabric flower pins,

 map tags,

 ornate bulletin boards,

 vintage ceramic planters,

 and cutesy chalkboards.

Things I would use in my OWN home, anytime.

I'm even planning for a surprise event Emily and I were invited too...a little craft fair in Galveston, IN in October (more details later).

So much to think about, with so little time in between!

A little tweaking

My cousin and I are headed to our local flea market tomorrow for the next three days.

It's our turn to sell our crafts again.

Last time didn't go so well since it rained/poured the three days we were there over Memorial Day weekend.

We'll give it a go this time, and hope it goes better.

I've been working on some new things, and I took some stuff out of my Etsy shop, and replaced them with some new things.

I added these things to the store this morning.

Tried and ???

These past three days, my cousins and I tried something very different for us...

We bought a booth at our local flea market, and sold the crafts we've been working on for months.

We had a cute booth with great stuff if I do say so myself!  And our display rocked!

BUT, Memorial Day, which was supposed to be the busiest day of the year...turned out to be terrible.  It rained the ENTIRE DAY and hardly even made it to 60 degrees.

We didn't sell much.  It was a bummer.

I had to go back to work for the next two days, so my cousin ran the booth herself, and the second day turned out to be not much greater than the first.  Again, rain, and slow traffic.

But just look at how cute everything is!  We had a mix of things we made ourselves, and antique vintage things, and adorable onesies that my cousin with a brand new baby made.

I would've bought everything in our booth if I was the one visiting it.

We had the best "booth" neighbors too...a retired couple who were very interesting and super nice.

It made the VERY SLOW day on Monday go quicker with them beside us to talk to.

As it is, we will be at the same flea market for 3 days in July, 3 days in Aug, and 3 days in Sept.

I hope it is better...I hope we sell out...that would be an accomplishment.

The things I have left over will go in my etsy shop...except for the larger things that would be very expensive to ship.

We gave it a try...I guess we can slap ourselves on the back for that!
