The End

Today was our last day of school,

and my last day of work till next school year (minus the summer school I'm helping with first...)

At the high school, the band played "School's Out for SUMMER!" while the kids exited to the buses.

It was cool.

There were great memories made, fears overcome, and tears to commemorate a great year and awesome teachers.

The year FLEW by.  Faster than I ever remember a school year doing.

Maybe it was because we were so busy, or maybe just because the kids are getting older.

Next year, they will both be at the same school again, and Grace will be in her last year of Junior High.  I can't believe it!  It will be nice to have them at the same school again.
Grace (on left) bringing home her friend Brooklyn to spend the night.

Our girl's softball won regional for the first time ever and are heading to semi-state!
Now, it's time to regroup, time to sleep in a little, time to prepare for vacation, the fair, etc.

I'm ready.

I know the kids are too.

Thank you God for protecting us this year, for giving the kids a great experience at school, and for making the year go by quickly.  We hope next year will be even better.

Tried and ???

These past three days, my cousins and I tried something very different for us...

We bought a booth at our local flea market, and sold the crafts we've been working on for months.

We had a cute booth with great stuff if I do say so myself!  And our display rocked!

BUT, Memorial Day, which was supposed to be the busiest day of the year...turned out to be terrible.  It rained the ENTIRE DAY and hardly even made it to 60 degrees.

We didn't sell much.  It was a bummer.

I had to go back to work for the next two days, so my cousin ran the booth herself, and the second day turned out to be not much greater than the first.  Again, rain, and slow traffic.

But just look at how cute everything is!  We had a mix of things we made ourselves, and antique vintage things, and adorable onesies that my cousin with a brand new baby made.

I would've bought everything in our booth if I was the one visiting it.

We had the best "booth" neighbors too...a retired couple who were very interesting and super nice.

It made the VERY SLOW day on Monday go quicker with them beside us to talk to.

As it is, we will be at the same flea market for 3 days in July, 3 days in Aug, and 3 days in Sept.

I hope it is better...I hope we sell out...that would be an accomplishment.

The things I have left over will go in my etsy shop...except for the larger things that would be very expensive to ship.

We gave it a try...I guess we can slap ourselves on the back for that!

Friday Night

Tonight it's just Grace and I.  Evan is spending the night at a friend's house.

Well, it's not JUST us, Brent is here too, but he's currently outside fixing the 4-H pig house, and when he comes inside, he'll go to bed early cause he's driving milk truck tomorrow to IL.

After he and I are done covering the strawberries, grapes and tomatoes in the garden (frost warning tonight), it's movie and pizza night with Grace.

I wonder which one it will be...or maybe there will be more than one, she IS a movie watcher.

I will snuggle up on the couch with the grumpy cat...

and peruse this when I feel like it.

I might wander out to the kitchen (where I can still see the movie...) and make this for tomorrow morning.

It sounds like a very easygoing night to me.  I'm pretty excited to relax on the couch.

It's been a long week!

What are you doing tonight?

Feeling a little frisky

It's that time of year for us.

Each May our ewes start having new lambs.

They are the epitome of cute!

I dare you to disagree.
Unless they have a distinct mark on them, it's hard to tell them apart from the others, and to give them a name. But we try when we can.

We do have one who was born to a ewe we named Licorice because she had black lips.  The new lamb was born with black lips too.

Adorable.

The pasture where we keep the lambs is so peaceful.

We have four more ewes to have babies.  So far, we have a set of triplets, 3 sets of twins, and a single lamb.

I love May.

My last 7 pins

First of all...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS!

I've had a good day so far, and I've had some quiet time to get crafty, and just watch some movies...it's been refreshing.

I wanted to share my last 7 pins on Pinterest.com, varied as they are.

One made me laugh out loud...
(cause we have a cat who would do this...)

one gave me a good idea for a craft.
One reminded me of the flowers my husband brought back for me when he went to check on our sheep at another pasture...they are wafting their sweet aroma all through the house (and they are some of my favorites)
One is a project I'd like to make for Grace since EVERY pair of shorts for a teenage girl are inappropriately short!
One is a supper I might make this week...(website listed at the bottom of the picture)
And the last two...things I think, "Duh, why didn't I think of these sooner?"

(foam board covered with shelf paper to put on wire shelving)
(baby oil to shave with to make your legs smoother, get a closer shave, and help your razor to last longer.)
Now, all these pins aren't extraordinary to everyone, but they mean something to me.

Go out and pin something for yourself!

A little of this and a little of that

I usually always upload my camera and "clear" it out after each event that I'm taking pictures for.  It makes it easier.

I used to carry my point and shoot camera around in my purse, which made it so much more convenient to take pictures, but now that I have a bigger camera with a large lens, I don't carry it with me anymore.

I LOVE my new camera, but it's big.

This afternoon I decided to upload what I had on the camera.  I had 87 pictures.  Ugh.

So, here are some snippets of our life from the last 5 months.

We've had:

2 birthdays
a late season snow
the start of jr. high track
a field trip to Chicago
4-H pigs
warm open window weather
pets
AND
a new trampoline so generously purchased by my parents

It's been busy, but good!
