An Adventure

So I have a great cousin, who is WAY younger than me, but we have SO MUCH in common.

She moved back home to the family farm after she graduated from college this past spring.

She's been my crafting/thrifting/antiquing partner ever since.

She also came up with a fabulously great idea recently.

You see, we have a local flea/craft market about 45 minutes from here.

She Facebooked me and my aunt and a couple of my other cousins one day and asked if we wanted to join together and get a booth at the flea market and sell our "goods" a couple different weekends this summer.

Um, yes....  I think so.

It was both exciting and terrifying at the same time.

So, needless to say, we're DOIN' IT!  We will be there Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend.  (I think those dates are right....)

We're all planning on crafting up a storm until then.

I've been perusing booth ideas and craft ideas on Pinterest like my hair is on fire.

I have to say, I'm a bit smitten with April Kennedy from Funky Vintage Lovely's booth ideas. You can find her here.

Her booth at the Queen Bee Market was fabulous!  And of course for the other shows she's been at.

A great mix of vintage and coolness.

I've been pinning some crafts I want to make, along with some of the things I currently make for my Etsy shop.

I've been thinking of these things...

What do you think?  Would you come see us if you live in the area?  We're all making different things.  I can't wait for this endeavor.

Great idea cuz!

  1. you guys are going to do AWESOME :) can't wait to hear about it!

  2. Boy do I envy you and wish I lived closer. You'd inspire me to create but mostly I'd be tempted to buy all your gorgeous creations. Funny, I just saw an ad for a flea market here in April and considered renting a spot. I have soooo much vintage stuff that I keep saying I'm going to sell from our farm, but still don't have that space ready. Turns out the roof was just a small part of my buildings "issues" and a complete rebuild is not in our budget right now... Every pic you chose here speaks to me! THANKS for always firing me up! (I *might* even plant a few seeds in your honor!) Best wishes in your newest adventure!!!

  3. Wish I was close enough to come shopping. Brilliant idea! Was it Emily?

  4. Awesome awesome stuff! I wish I lived closer! Please, please put those mason jar soap dispenser in your etsy shop! I will be all over them!

  5. Yep! I need to know where this flea market is you speak of. I will totally come see you and bring a van load of girls for a girls day. I love love love the lamp shade with the doilies. I just bought 4 bright colored matching ones at Goodwill with no idea what i was going to do with them, but for a dollar I knew they needed to come live at my house. Now I know what I need to do with them. You have to email me or message me where the flea market is - are you talking about Shipshewana? Or is there another one I haven't heard of?

    1. It is the Shipshewana Flea Market! We are hoping to be there May 27-29, which is a Monday-Wed, July 2-4, which is a Tues-Thurs, Aug 6 & 7, which is a usual Tues/Wed one, and Sep 2-4, which is a Mon-Wed. We haven't heard for sure that we have gotten those weeks, but fingers crossed we will!

Thanks for commenting...I love reading what you all have to say!
