Old times

When exactly did people or businesses stop painting their logos on the sides of buildings?
It's a tragedy really. They look so neat.
It was surely the best advertisement they had at that time...and it lasted for years and years and years.

Throw in a street lamp or two

and some hoodlums (from any era)

(Grace tells me she was demonstrating how to smoke a cigar in the background...hmmm...)

and you get a really cool reminder of how it used to be.

  1. Terrific pictures of the buildings and your kiddos. I love the old lettering you see on buildings today - it makes me stop and wonder and think about days gone by.

  2. It was great seeing you yesterday! Brenna has been talking non-stop about "Kevin" and Grace....she keeps asking me "what are they doing right now?" so I make up all sorts of things. For your sake I won't mention the cigar smoking. :)

  3. Do you think Economy Auto Supply still has the easiest credit in town??

Love the old buildings and the not so old kiddos.

We have some buildings like that in my area. A few have been repainted over and over to keep them "up". Once is a cool coca-cola logo that caused quite a stir with coca-cola a few year back, fortunately it's still there.
