Nothing wrong with a little labor from your kids...right?!
There was much more to be accomplished than I originally thought, but then again, there ALWAYS is.
In anticipation of their 4 friends spending the night last night, I enlisted the help of my two young ins.

Of course, I wanted the house to be clean. 'Course that was a distant memory after all 4 kids were here...within 5 minutes. It's like our cleaning didn't even happen.
We swept, dusted, made the beds, did 4 loads of laundry (sheets, towels, whites, darks), and got the food ready, and did some maintenance outside as well.
We also had to change some things. New pillows had to be made for the couch (my idea)
But don't they made the couch look more summery? There were banners to be made for Evan's baseball room renovation.
I thought I was gonna use it for a window valance, but decided to hang it in the corner for now.
The kids were tired by the end of the day, but it was great that they helped.

Word on the street is that everyone stayed up till the early hours of this am. I believe it, I guess, because my own kids, who are early risers (6:30 am-7:30 each morn.) didn't get up till 10am.
We're planning on going swimming after lunch...that is, if the storms leave the area.
Wish us luck...and early bedtimes tonight!
That must have been fun! I did this with mine when they were young, plus it teaches them skills for life...they told me so! I love the pillows...summery! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it all! Looks great! I too work my kids and appreciate every little effort they make (even if it's undone in the blink of an eye). Wishing you all a restful weekend! Gotta stay up to see the fireworks tho, right?
