Mi Casa es su casa!

I've never shared my whole house with you all before, but some nice lady named Michelle (you know who you are) asked me if I would show some parts.

We've lived here 4 1/2 years now, and there are parts we're STILL changing. Also, money often gets in the way. So, this humble house is a work in progress....So...WELCOME!

When you walk in the front door, this is what you first see (hopefully it's clean!)

Around the corner is the kitchen. In the 4 1/2 years we've been here, it's been red, yellow, and now aqua. I like this color, and think it'll stay this way awhile.

This is one of the things I like best about the kitchen. I found this old window frame at one of my favorite second hand furniture stores in town. I made it into just a place to hold baskets, etc. My brother in law who is tall, often has to duck, but when you're 5'2 1/2" like me, it doesn't matter!

From the kitchen you go into the office, but since that is the bane of my existence, and it's not exactly how I want it, we'll skip that for now and move to the living room.

This space gets moved around about every 3 months or so (or whenever I just can't stand it anymore!)

This entertainment center must go, however, my wonderful husband made it in high school shop class, and can't part with it. I envision an old pie safe or something much more okay looking! But it's followed us from apartment to house to apartment to house for 13 years. I have a fear it will always be a part of us. Maybe eventually when we finish the basement, it can find a home down there.

From the living room, you move to the dining room.

Now, because the bedrooms, like the dreaded office, are not ideal, they will also remain off the visual tour today.

Upstairs on the landing is my craft room. It's a place I love, but seem to not get to as frequently as often as I'd like.

Grace made this in school this year and it's one of my favorites since we have chickens of our own.

Well....that's it! When I feel more secure about the other rooms of my house, I'll show them. I'm planning on repainting the laundry room with leftover paint from the kitchen, so I'll post that later.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your own home!

  2. You have such a nice home...and it's tidy! Wish mine was that way more often! :) We are just finishing up a room that we turned into our bedroom. If you haven't been to the new antique store in Leesburg called "Alley Cats", you have to GO! It's right on 15 by the John Deere stores . I found an entire full iron bed, complete with headboard, footboard, rails, and slats for $30...although I am just keeping the headboard for our bed. The rest is going for my daughter's bed...however it's pink, with about 3 other colors underneath. Thanks for the tour!

  3. Looks great! Hey, where did you get your kitchen curtains? I want something just like that for my kitchen but can't seem to find it anywhere!

  8. I didn't think my past comment ever posted! ...but I'm glad it did! We are 2 peas in a pod. Our bedroom has been painted 4 times in 5 yrs and both boys rooms have been painted at least twice. Kitchen and living room just once! (but if I'm honest, I really want the living room re-pained)! We also have a couple matching paint colors and pictures :)
